Baltimore County Detention Center - Towson, Maryland
The Baltimore County Detention Center Expansion Project is a 341,000 sq. ft., seven level prison facility with office space. The project encompasses roughly 54,000 man-hours beginning in September of 2003 and ending in October of 2005. The expansion will double the amount of beds at the existing facility, while providing its own parking (always a concern in Towson). It will also provide hundreds of additional jobs. |

The project consists of three major areas: cell blocks, administration, and parking garage; all requiring a wide variety of skills. The cell block area is predominately pre-cast construction, requiring extensive coordination pre-delivery. The administration area is drywall and drop ceiling construction and the garage is cast-in-place concrete construction. The project is being constructed on a relatively small site for the building size, requiring careful staging of deliveries and close coordination with other trades.
Our scope of work includes tamper-proof security fixtures and devices, a double-ended 15KV switch and PLC driven switchboard, and a complete telephone/data system including termination to the existing facility.
