Canton Crossing Tower
First Mariner Tower, also known as Canton Crossing, is a 18-story, 519,000 square foot commercial office building. This site, which was once an oil terminal, is one of many which are being revitalized to develop the Canton area in a $1 billion dollar development. Canton Crossing has approximately 17 floors, and 32 electrical rooms with a busduct riser that spans the length of the building. Primo had to duplicate each electrical room, utilizing our craftsperson’s layout skills to have the conduit sleeves stack exactly the same on each floor.

Another highlight of this project was getting the two double-ended substations, six automatic transfer switches, and one single- ended substation to the 18 th floor (250’ H) in a three-day period. In addition, Primo was responsible for lifting several pieces of 7-ton XFMR from the ground level to the 18 th floor of Canton Crossing. This was completed 24 times w/various other types of equipment, in order to complete the gear line-ups. For this project, Primo was awarded the 2005 Gilbane Trade Contractor Award in recognition of excellent performance.
